Smartie Birds, Mixed Media

Two little birds on a dictionary page from 1936. Just a fun thing I stopped to work on.

Baby Boomer

News to share!
We have a new puppy and just found out our little one (coming in June) is a SHE!

Meet Jaxx and Kniya Annah:

*Kniya is in the bottom left corner kicking away ♥ Jaxx never leaves a lap empty if he can help it*

So, if this explains why I've been rather slow on the blogging... I've been pretty swamped lately with work, housework, and all the stuff that comes with becoming a mamma. If you'd like to read more about this, click here.

Illustration Friday and Tuesday Mugs

Tippy thought they should just hitch a ride on Georgia - they didn't really think he'd notice since his head was all the way up in the clouds. Maybe they should've asked first...

He Would Go to Any Length... Or Height...

This is Fraz:

He is a sneaky little cat..

And he will go do any length... or height... to find new treasures for the ones he loves.

This is not a treasure (even if Fraz thinks it is):

This is the nervous little sparrow that is trying to blend in to his birdhouse.

I don't think it's working.

Although... that branch doesn't look so stable...

Bronton on a Mug

A new illustration - a new product! Check it out at my Etsy Store.

Bronton is a brilliant little fellow. This sunny, summer day he is contemplating the garden, the flowers, and the effects of photosynthesis on the plants.

Life Is Like a Bowl of Fish

It took me a while to come up with an idea for this week's Illustration Friday topic "yield." Eventually, I thought about circumstances that might yield one outcome or another, and this was what resulted:

It made me smile - I hope it does the same for you.

Preparing for Lift-Off

Took some extra time on this week's Illustration Friday theme "Capable" and came up with this:

"Preparing for Lift-Off"
A capable teacher, an optimistic student,

Perhaps this lesson is not really prudent.

But the charts all look right - it's possible to fly

And he's always heard "It never hurts to try."

I kinda took the theme and ran with it. Nothing came to mind for "Capable" for a while, but I started thinking about my owls, and which one was the least capable flier. It then just made sense for the smartest owl to try and teach him. :)

On a side note, my sister was laughing at me yesterday because I try to use my pencils to the fullest:

Which can get a little ridiculous.

I hope to hear from you!

Happy Birthday Bob

Today is Bob Marley's birthday (or at least everyone thinks it is :), so I decided to do an ACEO card in honor of the event.

I enjoyed drawing it. I debated for quite a while on the background, but I felt I needed to keep the Jamaican colors. I did add a pattern to give it more of my style.

I sell my ACEO cards on eBay, you can see Bob Marley by Clicking Here.

My husband and I went to Jamaica for our Honeymoon, and Marley's face was on everything! I absolutely LOVE the Jamaican accent. They said with out his glasses, my husband looked Jamaican (his bone structure and dark skin), so he tried to talk Jamaican the whole time.

La Chat

A couple new finished pieces for your eyes to feast on!

These are a couple cats from my La Chat series. They end on eBay in 9 hours! :)

Cats are interesting subjects - intelligent but kind of funny. My husband HATES cats (aside from when I draw them, of course), but I think they are intriguing. He doesn't like their difficult attitude, but I kind of like their independence and sauciness. I have owned several cats growing up and one dog.

Give me some love and let me know what you think!
